Located in Queretaro, Mexico, and founded in 1970, Bob, Bev, Douglas, and Monica Wright are the missionaries. Douglas, the son of Bob and Bev, married Monica in March, 1986. The home is on 112 acres of land, located 800 miles south of Texas, 140 miles north of Mexico City. The elevation is 5600 feet above sea level, a California-like environment.
The home takes in homeless and discarded children, caring for them in a Christian family environment. Each child is being schooled and has responsibilities on the farm where Bob raises produce and animals for food. 20 to 30 children are the maximum at any given time. It should be noted that Mexico has no social system in place to care for those who cannot care for themselves, including children.
Hundreds of children have been fed and cared for 34 years at MCCH. To find out more information about the Home see the Mexico Christian Children's Home Web Site and/or contact Bob Wright.
Southwood has been happy to share in the ministry of Mexico Christian Children's Home for many years.
